OVERVIEW
Composed of two main sub-districts, the Wynwood Art District and the Wynwood Fashion District, Wynwood stretches from North 20th Street to the I-195 on the South/North border and from the I-95 to the Florida East Coast Railway on the West/East border.
ART
The area’s penchant for arts is clearly displayed by two Wynwood staples: the Wynwood Walls and the Wynwood Art District.
The Wynwood Walls were originally launched during Art Basel, eventually morphing into an outdoor street art park boasting over 40 murals depicted by a variety of world-renowned artists.
Within the Wynwood Art District, find over 70 galleries and museums that participate in the monthly “ArtWalk” series, during which the art spaces open their doors for public viewing.
The city’s free weekly newspaper, the Miami New Times, is also headquartered in the area.
